Did you know that graphic designers are also full-stack developers?
As a graphic designer from my background, before starting my new carries as a full stack web developer I noticed some graphics designer skills that made my life easier as a full stack web developer during my 12 months of training at microverse.
- Firstly when we needed to use Figma or XD, for developing the front-end of certain websites and applications. I was already familiar with the use of the selected software because of my former graphic design title.
- Secondly the manipulation of color for the output of modern designs for end users plus understanding perfectly the animation involved.
- Graphic design’s primary principles like;
- Balance
- Contrast
- Hierarchy
- Emphasis
- Proximity
- Repetition
- Rhythm
- White space
- Pattern
- Movement
- Alignment & Unity
Helped me to be one of the best Front-end Designers because of my full understanding of how elements have to be displayed to the end-user. I spend about 4 months as a front-end developer, by month number two I started receiving job proposals from tech companies and private institutions in which they mentioned me as one of the most creative front-end developers, they have seen and they needed me to join their company or organization. Eventually, I would have loved to be with them at that moment but I had my objective, to be a full-stack web developer within 12 months.
So i continue my journey as a student at microverse in the programme of full stack development. I learned the following from microverse.
